Saudat Adébísí Ọláyídé Hamzat is a senior lecturer with the Department of Linguistics and Nigerian Languages, Faculty of Arts, University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria. Her area of specialization and research interests are Yorùbá literature and culture, with a focus on oral and written drama, prose, and poetry about globalization and cultural change. Her Ph. D thesis, completed in 2016, is concerned with oral and written drama, with a special focus on articulation and negotiation/interrogation of culture, history, power, and politics among the Yorùbá of Nigeria. She made her mark in the teaching of Yorùbá language, literature, and culture in the secondary institution before joining the University. She is not only a member of the Yorùbá Teachers Association of Nigeria but also a member of the Association of Nigerian Language Teachers. She is a member of the Yorùbá Studies Association and the Linguistics Association of Nigeria.
