Prof. Issa O. Sanusi is a Professor of Linguistics, in the Department of Linguistics and Nigerian Languages at the University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Nigeria. His areas of research interest include Syntax and Applied Linguistics. He has a flair for studies on Yorùbá and Bàtɔ̀nū linguistics. He has held various important academic and administrative positions in the University including the Sub-Dean of the Faculty of Arts, between 2007 and 2009, Departmental Postgraduate Programme Coordinator from 2001 to 2015, and Chairman Campus Transportation Board from 2010 to 2011. He was a former Head of Department from 2015 to 2017. He is currently the Director of the Centre for Ilorin Studies. He is a member of the Linguistics Association of Nigeria, the West African Linguistics Society, Yoruba Studies Association of Nigeria. He has authored a book on linguistics and published widely in local, national, and international journals. He has supervised several undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations and theses.
